Ive always wanted to record Michael Oesch since seeing the film/documentary that he was in called “Why cant we talk about this?” by Rainey Media. He’s been right at the top of my list of phenomenal people.
Meeting him in person was every bit as striking as I hoped. His candor, his way of talking, and his absolute realness make him such an inspiring human to be around. On the drive home, listening back to the recording, all I could picture was Michael in front of an auditorium full of people of all ages, teaching Storytelling 101 and handling a rapid-fire barrage of questions from people who came just to be inspired b him.
Usually my style leans heavily into the funny bone. But with this piece, it just didn’t feel right. While it still has its moments-and I definitely had fun with the voice overs-this one is meant to move you.
